“A former design director of Mary Fox Linton, Gavin Johnston Stewart started the company twelve years ago. His aim was to focus on providing a specialized, bespoke product: the residential interior for the most discerning client. He has honed his practice's understanding of the quality and standards this client would expect. The starting points are the architecture and the client, the former requires respect but should not intimidate, the latter should be listened to but guided to unanticipated levels.
Strong planning and interior detailing skills provide dynamic, quality spaces. These can be rich or minimal depending on the context but never overdone. The practice provides a seamless transition from the architectural setting to the luxurious furnishing scheme, using strong forms, sumptuous textures and finishes, with unexpected 'jewel' like touches.
